Laurena Chen is a Creative & Marketing Consultant based in Santa Cruz, California.
She works across business, technology, and culture. Her practice spans creative strategy/art direction, concept development, photography, social content, brand identity, and image research/curation. Her work is rooted in relevance, curiosity, experimentation, and finding beauty in everything.
She currently serves as a Project Manager at UC Santa Cruz's Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurial Development, where she works across digital marketing consulting, social, and web. Previously, she held roles across GTM, product engineering, and marketing at BrandCapsule, an early-stage AI startup, working on everything from product positioning to campaigns, creative, web design, and social.
Outside of work, she has been a figure skater since age five and is a 3x national competitor in ice dance and 2x international competitor in synchronized skating. She practices yoga, lifts, makes jewelry, plays the piano, is incredible at doing her own nails, making yogurt bowls, and baking protein banana bread. She is obsessed with startups, investing, marketing, health, and building a life full of relationships worth being proud of.
